Find interpreters in your location, choose which one you'd like to work with, and book. We'll even facilitate payment. It's a snap!

What is SnapTerp?

SnapTerp is an app which was designed for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in the UK. The app is free. Deaf people and sign language interpreters download the app and register for the service.

SnapTerp quickly finds available British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters who are nearby on the day and time the Deaf user chooses. SnapTerp gives you full control of the decision over which interpreter you hire. Deaf users of SnapTerp must be at least 16 years old to register.

SnapTerp offers interpreters opportunity and flexibility. SnapTerp is especially useful for last-minute bookings. Interpreters will find it advantageous for filling work schedules on top of half-days of work, assignments that finish early, or cancellations.

GPS enables interpreters to see how close they are to the requested location and calculate approximate travel time. Interpreters can be screened by qualifications held.

SnapTerp can arrange payment straight to the interpreter from any fund support, provided these are in place. SnapTerp also offers a direct-pay option for assignments for those who do not have a fund / financial support.
